Happy Me-day

Yes, it once again is that time of the year... The day upon which we celebrate my day of birth.

It's nice to have one of these days - and would be better if everybody didn't always ask the same questions...

Example conversation: (with my imaginary friend Joe)

Joe: So, how does it feel to be xx years old John?

Me : Well Joe, much the same as it did yesterday - it's just another day, and just another year.

Joe: Yes, but it's your birthday today, it only happens once a year, you should get excited about it!

Me : Ok, well 2Nd of October only happens once a year as well, but you don't see me getting excited about that....

Joe: Yes, bu...

Me : And, even February 29Th - it only happens once every four years, and I definately don't get excited for that.

So I kinda beat down the whole "You're special on your birthday" thing, but oh well.

Now, some of you might call me a pessimist (or an optimist if you get those 2 confused). However - I'm not really a pessimist - more of an optimist / realist... Anyway - that's all besides the point isn't it.

Of course there are plus sides to having one of these days where we celebrate the birth of someone by giving them gifts (or as I like to call them - presents).

So hereby I would like to thank anybody that gave me anything for my birthday - I really appreciate the <insert gift name here> you gave me.

Ok that probably sounded a bit too err.. - standardized - or something like that - anyway - its 08:45 am - and I haven't seen anyone yet - so this is kind of like a pre-'thank you' for all the people that are giving me stuff, and I just can't be bothered coming here later and listing a 'thank you' for everyone.

(thought: hah, now everybody thinks I know lots of people 'cause I can't be bothered typing out this 'huge list')

Hmmm.. Did I think that out loud... Ah well.

So what else is new in the life that is me...?

Answer: Not much!

Things have been fairly quiet on the homefront, and I seem to be working hard as my tiredness levels are on the rise.

On the plus side, I did get to see a bunch of my relatives about a week or two ago, and I really enjoyed seeing my cousin from Queensland who I hadn't seen for about 5 years. Hopefully she'll be moving down to my area in a few weeks. I've been calling her to keep her motivated and to make sure she saves some money for a place to move in to.

Anyway - I think this is enough rambling on - there are many more stories I could possibly tell, but most of them will probably bore you to death.

So ... Until the next time we meet (or not).
